how fast can a plug blow ??? i bought a brand new plug about 2 weeks ago then ran my truvk once then came bak 2 day (2 weeks later) and wouldnt start .it would start up w/ a really fast idle but would cut off in 1 sec. w/ the ignitor on it then i tried turniun the mixtures and that still wouldnt work......but the last plug i bought was a dynomite 5 plug i usullly get OS 8 's. I looked @ the the plug and it would bearly blow red.

Not too sure what that plug is rated at but I did something similar and realized that I tuned the engine for a certain plug that when I put in a different plug I blew that thing out real fast!!! Check tp see what plug it is rated at.

I have blown a plug in under 2 minutes and I have had a plug last as long as a few months of good use. It's hard to tell but if you let your engine run out of fuel a lot this taxes the glow plug as it runs real lean and hot before it flames out. Usually when I have a WOT out of control runaway it usually ruins the plug, or trying to start it flooded or running it too fat or rich. So there is a LOT of ways to ruin a plug. I ALWAYS keep freshies around as that and a dead glow starter battery will end your day early at the track or bash spot. Usually when a plug is spent it will not stay running unless the glow ignitor is on it. Let me find this good glow plug article I used to have that helped me a lot.

Here is the article, hope it helps you as it did me.

Here is another AWESOME article that touches on how to read glow plugs about mid way down:

It sometimes depends on the weather also because certain # plugs are for different temperatures
