Does any one know what a good glow plug to use in the mach 15 engine in my xxxnt would be? I really dont know much about glow plugs

thanx in advance for your help

@TWIZTIDNINJA For a small-block such as a .12 or .15 I like the Real Mc Coy #59 this is personnel preference. A lot of LHS owners have their favorite and will usually stock good brands. Sometimes your stuck with what you can get.

You have a lot of choices and most of them will fill your need. Just don't go for the bargain brand $ Nifty buck-fifty $.

I've been having pretty good luck with OS #A3's lately...

I used to only use #8's or McCoys... but the 8's were too expensive and the A3's seem to me to be working fine, I've got 5 tanks through an A3 so far, and it's running strong.

What is an average life of a plug I've got about 3/4 gallon with my stock one

The better the tune the longer the plug will last.
I change mine out of habit every quart or 2 or if I'm racing I will always start the day with a new plug.

Some people only change them when they fail. I prefer to be proactive.

During brake in I usually keep 2-3 additional plugs on hand.

McCoy's are the best. Thats what my brother is running in his Losi.

McCoy's and the O.S.#8 are the best. I've run the #8 and the 2.5 runs great with it. The McCoy plugs are all around good plugs. Everyone down here runs em!

Has anybody tried Novarossi special c5-s plugs? I picked up a couple of these for the Picco 26 and they seem to be doing great. They are still very clean after about 8 tanks. I can't find any specs on this plug (ex. hot, med, cold). Anybody know:stupid:

I'm using the novarossi C6-S in my Rex and it went a full gallon and still looks brand new. It still heats up just like new. I went ahead and changed it out on race day just to be safe.

This is copied and pasted from the Novarossi website.
"C.4S Special glowplug hot 3.5cc 10cc
C.5S Special glowplug average 3.5cc 10cc
C.6S Special glowplug cold 3.5cc 10cc
(till 25% nitro)
C.7S Special glowplug cold 3.5cc 10cc
(over 25% nitro)
C.8S Special glowplug ultra-cold 3.5cc 15cc (over 25% nitro)"

Whats does it mean when a glow plug is hot, med or cold?

I had the same question a little while back. Çh®i§tiªñ answered it at the last post of this thread.

There is also some other good glo-plug information peppered through out the thread. Read and enjoy.
