Just bought capital ACNCM head. Can I splice the glow plug wire to make it longer?

Why not just remove it all together and have a glow ignitor in your pocket and the ez start. Guaranteed the EZ Start will last longer doing this.

I'm going to but i have to order one i want to use it NOW!!!! lol

LOL. I know how that goes. A simple thing like a glow ignitor can frustrate the heck out of me especially with good weather and there is nothing broken on my ride.!!!

but can i splice it to make it longer... my dad said i couldn't... he dont know what he talking about....

Yes you can make it longer. I would suggest soldering it if you can so there are no breaks.

and also after you solder it i recommend putting some shrink wrap around the parts that you soldered to protect it and make it look nice.

I was able to use the stock wire with the head, check the routing. I will tell you that the ignitor is better simply because everytime it rolls over you'll wreck the wire.

Yeah, I ditched that blue wire right away. It was the source of all my problems. Never used it since, and I'm up and running. I carry a rechargable ignitor and a battery powered one just in case.

I aggree with ditching the blue wire. I used it for the longest time and always had starting problems. Switched to a glow innitor and havent had a problem since. Also have gotten 3 other friends to become believers in glow ignitors.
The only downside is u wouldnt be able to use it right this moment. If i were u id extend the blue wire so u can use it now, but also think about the glow ignitor. I dont think you would regret it.

After some thought I re-routed the blue wire with the help of a drill bit. No more ripped up blue wires!

It looks like that is going to be a pain when you flood or for doing your after-run oiling.

Traxxas also makes a longer plug wire that has an end that looks like a glow ignitor. Attaches the same way a glow ignitor would. It is longer than stock and is a direct plug in to your existing easy start. Traxxas sells it for like $9 I think. I first read about it in the Radio Control 2005 Buyers Guide. Looks like a great idea for those who would like to keep the easy start.... which personally is one of the reasons I bought the maxx.

dont get me wrong i love the ez-start complete ,
but i dont liek the fact that when you have to prime it the glo is hot all the time ,
so i invested in 2 igniters ,d-cell and a rechargeable and doing away with the yellow and blue wires

ok i got my glow ingnitor now just cut the blue and yellow wires or what??

Does anybody recognize this thing? I was going to suggest it a day or two ago but I can't figure out where I got it. (I must have paid cash somewhere...)

It's a push-and-turn onto the glow plug dealie and much easier to remove/install than that spring Traxxas puts on the end of their wires.

that wouldnt happen to be from slimline would it? I had something like that for the stock 2.5 head and it fit over the head like a hat... same way of putting it on..
