RC Newbie
Can anyone advise me on how long a glow plug igniter should last between charging? I am getting approx 1 start and then I go fuel up and the charger is toast. Does everyone use multiple chargers to keep the fun going?

should last alot longer then that. how are you charging it?

mines lasts about 8 - 10 starts, unless it starts right up, I think I'd get more if I discharged it fully before recharging. Might be your problem, not positive.

I got the ''D'' Cell glowplug ignitor, it lasts awile. When its done, put in a brand new ''D'' battery in there and we're ready to go again.
I have these two:

The first one will hold an alkaline C cell, so it's good for backup. I have stretched the spring inside it a bit and a sub-c cell works just fine as well.
The second one is my primary though. I like how it locks onto the glowplug. The spring lock ones don't seem to hold on as securely for as long. They wear a bit with age and don't hang on well.
I don't use the wall charger, I use my normal peak charger to charge them since it will let me charge 1-9 cells.
Either of them with a fresh charge will last me through a month or so of normal use on a single charge (running at least once a weekend). I don't think they have much more than a 2000mah NiCad in them.
