LOL...could be. They both look identical. Both are basket type filters. Both have a "heavy duty" o-ring type gasket. The only difference it seems is the particular shade of red they used when anodizing it. Oh wait, the Dynamite one doesn't come with a nifty clip and only costs $5.

I use those Dynamite ones on all my RCs, they work great for me. I also seal the two halves together with Racers Edge carb sealer, even though it has the o-ring seal, just a little insurance so I have no air leaks.

  • Thats a good idea on sealing the fuel filter. I am useing the Kyosho filter and love it. What else could you use to seal the filter? I have been getting some small bubbles in the line lately and I am in the process of elimination right now.

  • BTW NC, your banner ownes!!! Good Job8-0

If you don't intend to open it up all that frequently, you could always use a clear silicone based caulk; however, it gets messy to remove when it comes time to open the filter up.

Excellent idea. Adding it to my list. Isn't this place great?!?

I use part of a thick rubber-band and shrink tube.
Cover the seam with part of a wide rubber-band and put shrink tube over it.

  • Great ideas!!! I was thinking about the Permatex cause thats all I have laying around. I also added 3 layers of shrink wrap around the center of the filter to hopefully reduce vibration.

Or you could just use the sullivan and your days of leaking air bubbles are over.

I'm a Sullivan die-hard, what can i say. And at 3 bucks.........

I just added the Sullivan fuel filter to my list. I like the idea of it being a see thru so you can see when its time to clean it out. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

I'm not impressed with it. It does look cool but appears to be nothing more than a bolt on miniture starter box type setup without the motor to drive it. At $85 plus another $30+ for their motor (which they claim other don't have the speed or torque) it would cost you well over $100! Why bother?
