My engine (axxe rossi x1)was shipped with a very cold glow plug and I plan to race a indoor race with no heat. Probably the temp will be 30-40. There are four plugs made by the Axxe Rossi:

extra cold
very cold
cold
medium

with the cooler temps should i change to a warmer plug??

I run 30% fuel.

thanks

id definitely go for the medium or cold. try the cold first. but i wouldnt go very cold.

i got given an overly cold plug for my car, and it struggled to run. it was infuriating to get it started or run.

I asked this questions and I appreciate all the methods that work best for other racers, but I just purchased this months Rc Car Action and they have a article with Jim Hottinger from Fsion Motorsports, "Choose and Use the Right Plug." They have a cold weather paragraph and it says, "If its cold outside a hotter plug is usually needed. The fuel should burn at the same temp. within the engine no matter how cold it is outside. A hotter plug will help the engine maintain the correct operating temp. in colder conditions. If its cooler then 60 degrees, try a hotter plug than you're currently using."

I know some of the replies differ from this, but people are going to use what works best for them.

Thanks

Humidity effects an engine more so than temp. I run indoor nitro throughout the winter usually in unheated buildings, and never have had performance effected by the plug. That article sounds as though it contradicts alot of what holds true regarding air temp, IMO, and it's no wonder I no longer get that mag. For instance, in a V-spec you run an OS P3 Ultra Hot Plug, if it's cold outside, you can't get a hotter plug. In normal outdoor if it's not real humid you can tame the motor down by using a P6 which is a Hot plug.
