I have a Radical .21 621p and a week ago I raced in a night race that started at 3:00 and ended into the morning. My motor was running great and the temps were in the 220-230's after every heat. It got cooler as the night went on and during my third heat he stalled. I replaced the plug(os p3) and went to my main and it flamed out three times. I recently tried to start the motor and it wouldn't even try to start. I pulled the plug and the coil was black! Like it had sut on it. I replaced the plug and it started, but it won't run for more than 30 seconds. If I rev it on the box it will stall during a rev of if on the ground during acceleration. I reset the settings on the carb and still get the same results. I was wondering what the glow plug is telling me being black and only lasting 2 5 min heats? thanks

I purchased new fuel changed the fuel lines and still the same. I checked the clutch and it spins freely. Then I removed the motor and took of the chutch bell and the front bearing was shot. I guess with higher rpms it wasn't spining freely but it still doesn't explain the glow plugs condition and short life span thanks.

well I took the motor apart and the bushing in the conrod is gone. not gone but in the motor! the piston does not have really any deep scratches so I guess I'll just swap the rod.

Keep us posted here. Also, just to keep us from having to think really hard, in the future please refer to it as an engine. Motors are electric, unless you watch too much Nascar.

I installd a new conrod and started her up. She ran fine for like 3/4 of a tank and then the glow plug went bad again. The coil of the plug looks pushed up into the plug? Any help would be appreciated.

Did you make sure to put all the proper head shims in?

A pushed in coil is indicitive of to high of nitro content for the engine as it is currently shimmed (too high of compression/nitro content ratio).

yes I left out 1 of the 2 shims because my friend has the same setup and he is only running the 1 shim so I decided try the same. I put the other shim back on now and willdo a test run sunday. thanks
