I,m having a real problem with glittching servos. Wheir should I start looking, and could an epossed ant wire at the TIP ONLY cause glitch?

exposed ant. wire that is.

1. Check all your wires for bare spots.
2. Make sure that the antenna wire gets covered where it is bare, also check to be sure it isn't broken or cut short.
3. Route all your power wires away from your servo wires.
4. Make sure all connections are secure, and not damaged.
5. Make sure your batteries are fully charged, (receiver and transmitter).
6. Make sure the receiver and transmitter crystals are fully installed and not loose, or damaged.
7. Make sure all metal to metal contact points on the car are tight, so they will not vibrate (this can cause interference).
8. Can't think of anything else, but I'm sure others will be able to add to this list.

I've checked all of the above, still glitch, both throttle and steering. What am I overlooking, this is driving me nuts

When does this glitching occur:
1. When the engine is on or off?
2. When the receiver is on by itself or does it happen with both receiver and transmitter on?
3. Does it only happen outside or does it happen in the house also?
4. Do you have a failsafe?

Answer these, and we might be able to narrow the field a bit.

you can have a broken crystal and not be able to tell by looking.

do you know someone else with a similar radio? borrow his/her xtals and see if the glitch stops. i had a broken xtal and didnt notice except for my radio couldnt control my throttle at all.

be sure the antenna doesn't rub on anything, especially graphite. if you are missing some wire off the antenna it may be best to replace the entire wire.

more information would help. what kind of car? I'm assuming tmaxx, what kind of radio/servos. are you using AA's or reciever pack?

you may have a bad servo or reciever as well. glitches are hard to track down sometimes. good luck.

glitchen occurs with engine on or off.Hapens with receiver on by itself and both receiver and transmitter on. Ant new also tried my buds transmitter and still does it. Happens more often when more than ten feet away.Have failsafe and less noticeable with it off, cause it brings my throttle back to neutral when glitching badley.

swapped crystals as well ,not the problem.

sounds like an antenna problem if it occurs more the farther away you go. check the entire wire for any frays.

try your buds reciever and see if it still happens.

so you switched both xtals with different ones?

id say have your LHS take a look, if possible.

Geez is it just me or is reading this post like talking to a caveman, Crog hungry, Crog want food? If your spelling was a little better mabey some members would have an easier time helping you. Do you have a TRS that could be making the servo work harder?

The failsafe might play a part in this. Your statement that it was less noticeable with it off draws that conclusion.

If you live in an area where there are a lot of high tension lines or radio towers, you might be seeing interference from those.

Are all components of the same brand? I ask, because some components do not play well with those made by another manufacturer. Usually, a manufacturer will list any known interoperability issues with other makers.

Let he who is perfect cast the first stone.

He is from Canada. What is to say he is not from a French speaking portion of Canada? What is to say that English is not his first language? Heck what is to say that he does not have some kind of impairment that inhibits his typing ability.

So far, he might not be the clearest of communicators but he is getting his point across. So, cut him some slack.

Yeah, did ya? I'm having the same problems after checking all the stuff mentioned here. I even went back to the original POS stock radio and receiver that came with my maxx.
