I have been running the FullForce RC Carbon Fiber disc in my Maxx for a while, and it doesn't seem to have the stopping power it used to. When it was new I would do a front-roll roll if I wasn't too carefull, now it seems like it's barely working. I've upgraded to a Traxxas 2055 servo for the throttle and brake but it still hasn't helped.

Anyone running the carbon disc have the same issues?

Any way to recondition the disc (I've tried 400 grit sandpaper but it didn't help)?

try scuffing your shoes too......and then get a RRP brake set......those carbon ones get heated then start delaminating...that's when you may as well have a sponge in there.....

you dont want to scuff up the pad just the shoes and use like 220 grit, I used the Traxxas replacment fiber racing brake disk and it was great good stopping power and it lasts.

Tarant (and smiley if you didn't do this yet) sand and seal th eedges of th edisc w/ CA glue....it helps keep the edges from delaming....and if that doesn't work try the HCR disc brakes......

i would get a hitech servo for throttle and stering

but thats just me

Thanks for the info..

Plaid - that RRP kit looks nice, I may have to give it a shot.

i run the crazy nuts racing convertion, it's twin steel vented discs with 3 carbon pads, puts it on it's roof every time so far and it's just bedded in. that's with a futaba 3010 servo pulling it in, had problems with hitec servos, ain't touching them again

I've got a carbon disk on my savage and it started loosing stopping power.. come to find out it was oily (exaust i guess) cleaned it off and i was on my lid in no time..
