Well, I finally decided to get an electric heli to fly in the warehouse while I'm at work. I've decided on the Heli-max MX400 Pro. Going to run the JR 410t gyro, R700 rx, E-Flite EFLRS75 servos and powered by the thunder tiger 3-cell 1320mAh Li-po pack.........only until I can get the 2100 for it.

Anyone have one and what's your thoughts on it??

I will try to post some pics of it, along with the Rappy 30, this weekend.......any info on the 400 would be appreciated...

Well, taking a break from the build. It was an ARF kit so the head unit was all built, that was nice. Only complaint I have thus far is the motor mount screws are a philips head that strip easily and getting to them are a pain in the butt. I finally ditched those and put it a couple of cap head hex screws, much nicer and easier to get to with a ball-end driver. After getting the motor mounted, I mounted the ESC and gyro. Wiring is going to a pain to tie up, to make it look neat, considering all the wires I have. I did upgrade the tail rotor blade grips to the aluminum ones, the plastic grips that came with the kit just looked cheap and flimsy. I'll probably upgrade the head in the future but my main concern right now is getting this bird in the air! I hope to maiden voyage it this coming Sunday if the weather holds and I'm actually able to finish it.

Instead of posting pics of it, here's a link...

Will post more as I get further along.......

Schwing Schwing! sweet little stable you have, vid would be awesome if you get the chance.

Thanks bro, I tried to drop you an e-mail about the Funtana but it got kicked back to me. Just didn't want you to think I was ignoring you or didn't get it........

Nice plane by the way, flying buddy of mine has one with a 1.20 Saito on it. Very nice flying plane, does everything he wants and then some he doesn't...LOL.........he gets a little crazy with it every now and then....

No prob, i received your email my email says my spam database needs to be updated but i dont understand, but anyways thanks for the compliments, mine has an OS 1.20 Surpass in it, plenty of power to do whatever i want it to do i rarely go above half throttle thats how much power this thing has , i can't wait for my new radio gear to get here then i can put some expotential in it and make it a little more forgiving right now ever little movement on the sticks is damn near twice that to the plane, gets the blood pumping thats for sure!

That is sweet.
I want to try one of those electric helicopters. All I have is fixed wing so far.

Keep posting on how it does and good luck on the maiden flight.

Thanks Digger..........

I got it all together and ready for the setup on the blades. For some reason, I can't get my pitch right.........I'm going to a friend's house this evening to have him do it. He's been flying heli's for about 10 yrs. so he shouldn't have a problem...LOL....will post more as it happens.....

Got everything setup and did a test hover on it. She hovers rock solid, plenty of power, and will probably be an awesome 3D machine if i ever get the nerve....LOL......I'll have to put a little expo on the cyclics as it is very touchy, well touchier than my Raptor. I may hold off on doing that as I don't like flying expo on my heli's. May try it like it is and see how i adjust to it. So far I'm very well pleased with the way it handles and overall quality.

Tomorrow will be the actual maiden flight. So I'm sure I'll have more to say afterwards...lol......

Give us an update next time your on.

Hope it went well and came back in one piece.

It came home in one piece but the maiden flight never happened. It was soooo flippin' windy today I wasn't flying anything.....lol..........I did hover it a little, between the gusts, but enough to know that I had to put a little expo on the cyclics, I went with 25%. Softened it up just enough so it wasn't so twitchy for me. Really a fun little heli but the flight times right now are a mouth full of suck. I'm getting 5 mins. tops out of the pack I'm running. Looking to get a better pack by the end of the week possibly.

This thing flies awesome!! I did put some expo in it, 25%, and it helped alot. Very predictable flight characteristics. I have been flying this more than my Raptor......it won't replace the Raptor but it sure is nice to take the MX to work and buzz it around....lol......

I would recommend this heli to anyone interested in electric heli's, get a sim first though. Its stable but i think it would be a little much for a complete newb to start on.

It's going to get setup for 3D this weekend and I will be trying some inverted flight with it to see how it does there. The roll rates and cyclic response are there for it so i'm hoping all goes well.

As fas as a vid, my cam has taken a dump so I'm going to have to get a new one whenever finances allow. Sorry fellas but it will prolly be awhile...........

I finally got around to getting a short vid made. I was flying in an area that I shouldn't have been but its still in one piece......lol.......it was a tight little spot but.....let me know whatcha guys think.......
