i found a buyer for my hotwheels drag bus collection and i am going to apply that money to a brand new, not just new to me, truck... i am going to have a budget around 400 bux, i have been looking at the HPI e-savage. for its price, i have found around 270, i would be able to do some upgrading where needed... i am very new to the hobby and not sure if i will like the truck when i get it... so i am asking this, what are some opinions of a good truck. i want something that has some good speed, able to bash and see some air, low center of gravity so i am not always going to turn it over, and some decent run time, 30 min or longer. the closest LHS is about 45 min to an hour so i would need to be able to get parts online easily. i look forward to seeing what you have to say.:first_place:

You need a 1/10 slash 4x4 with 3s lipo....Just my opinion.

i would stick with a brand-name rig, cause it's no fun having a rig you can't get parts for or have to wait a long time getting the parts. my L.H.S CARRIES A FULL LINE OF PARTS FOR traxxas AND hpi, so getting my trucks fixed is just a short drive away. let us know what you choose, and just have fun, that's what it's all about. kdogg

kdogg's correct! when youve got an off brand truck, say a tower hobbies, nobody sells parts for it. i own a t-maxx, youd think parts would be everywhere but to bad for me all the LHS's in brighton don't carry any nitro cars stuff, just fantasy stuff and nitro planes. its been such a long time since we had an amazing LHS, they all close down b/c they dont sell r/c car stuff. something that is extremely popular in brighton and hartland. i dont think that they'll ever figure it out!!!

i have been looking at name brand rigs just for that reason. i took a look at the slash and it seems cool, a bit outta my price range, and i dont really like the look of it...
i have also been looking at the traxxas e maxx, the e revo and even thinking about a crawler or scaler.... not real sure what to do yet...but for sure it will be a name brand rig what ever it is

i am not sure about the lipo batterys... the charger i have will charge them but i am unsure about balancing, series and parrallel and things of that nature... i have a 3300 and 3500 nimh batts and if i went to a lipo would i also still be able to use those batts in the truck?
