Gettin a guitar this weekend!!

Hm. Not sure what to say. Chords and I get along well enough. Just start with the root 5 and root 6 bar chords along with the basic open A-G chords and you can pick up just about song. The rest is just nuance and playing with feeling.
And since I'm a glutton for punishment, I've been taking up the drums a little. The basics come quick. But it's going to take a lot of practice to not sound like crap.

Some chords are just not comfortable at all. Not sure if it's just normal....or if it's from an old motocross injury I had to my left elbow/upper arm. I have a 12" titanium plate in my arm, just above the elbow....and some nerve damage to my pinky finger I guess. Hurts like a mother if I whack it gently on damn near anything. lol

Just for giggles, the chords I had trouble fretting with my left hand...I had no trouble fretting with my right hand (guitar flipped over of course). So I'm still wondering if the injury is hindering me here....but I don't think I wanna play lefty! lol

I just got my guitar!! It's a black Ibanez. I got a combo that came with an amp, case, cord, tuner, whammy bar, strap, and of course the guitar! This thing looks so sweet. It's shiny black with tiny gold specks barely noticeable. I'll try and get a pic of it up soon. I'm at my friends hous spending the night so maybe tomorrow

Nice. I'm an Ibanez fan and would probably buy one if I were in the market. I'm actually thinking of selling off my Ovation and getting something with better acoustic sound. A friend of mine has a Seagull that sounds great. Might buy one of those.

The starter packs are always a wise choice for beginners.. inexpensive expense considering some people lose interest after a while. I hope you keep with it

I'm actually thinking of selling off my Ovation and getting something with better acoustic sound. A friend of mine has a Seagull that sounds great. Might buy one of those.

Had an Ovation. I liked the sound. Always played through an amp though.

I have a Warwick Streamer bass, a made in the USA Charvel Electric San Deamas (think that's how it's spelled), a yahaha steel string and nylon classical and a Kurzweil PC88 keyboard... nah I don't play music... LMAO
