First, my reverse primary gear went out on my T-Maxx. I then purchased a Robinson Racing primary gear kit. Now, 4 days later, the teeth on my reverse output gear assembly got eaten up. And no, I don't want to get rid of my reverse. The last thing I want to do is go running to turn my truck around. I'm a basher, not a racer. Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on!!!!

Your slipper is too tight. Back it off a quarter turn. It may not pop wheelies, but you won't have an hour downtime everytime you have to tear apart the trans.

just had the same problem. Except I tore up my forward output gear. After disassembling I noticed my slipper was tight but didn't realize it was the culprit. I always assumed the slipper was there to save the engine in the case of a landing when rapid deceleration can occur. Mine didn't give on a landing.. I was trying to get out of some snow. Then suddenly "WEEEEEE". and no movement. So I guess the slipper can help save drivetrain upon hard acceleration as well? The weird thing is that the gear didn't strip all the way around like I've seen pictures of. It just broke off 2 teeth completely and ground down 2 or three more on one side. oh well, pretty cheap fix.
