So for my simple mind, for low end punch go smaller on the bell and bigger on the spur? And is there a point when lowering the bell to having to switch the spur? Or should you just baseically do both. Thanks

and also as far as brand, should i just stay with Traxxas replacement part or Racers Edge or Integy or something?

Yes to both. I'm not sure where the cutt off point is with mesh is in reference to bell/spur tooth counts. But I'm pretty sure you can only go so small with the bell before having to increase the spur and the other way too.

Yeah you got it. Making a one tooth change to the bell is a bigger change than if you make a one toothtooth change to the spur because one is comparatively larger in relation to the total numberof teeth on the bell than it is to the total number of teeth on the spur.

ok Thanks. i was looking on ebay and noticed a bunch of options like vented or lightweight and others thats why i ask.

i was kinda thinking 13/40? I am just looking for low end wheelie pulling power.

+1 on the hotter engine. 13/40 will get boring real quick. If you can't wheelie with the stock gears then something else is wrong. I always ran 15/36 on my revos (3.3) and they wheelied fine. My .27 revo runs 18/36 and wheelies like crazy. Racer's edge makes damn fine clutch bells too, I've got 'em, say no to integy.

Well It does wheelies but where i normally run my truck i just hit second gear and have to let off.Its alot of hills and jumps and stuff. Not alot of straight shot 40mph runs so just looking to focus on the play power a little more, although it is fast and fun now but i have to get a new bell and was looking to experiment a bit.

I know the feeling. My skatepark isn't that big and running back and forth in the open at 50mph just isn't fun. I like having the torque to squirt over jumps in the skatepark better. Which is why I run a mild big block in my revo with relatively short gearing (15/36 it think).

Ok I see what you're after. You should just drop one tooth off your bell then. Or maybe add 2 teeth to you spur. 2 teeth on the spur is almost like taking 1 off the bell. If you go too low you may not ever hit 2nd gear, unless you want that. I really like the way my revo is right now, I've got a 27 with crazy low end torque geared at 18/36. It fits nicely with no major alterations and I can still "squirt" over jumps. It's about as fast as a stock revo in the long run because that engine revs about 5-7000 rpm lower than a 3.3.

i put big joes on my revo 3.3 and it hasnt wheelied since... The guy at shop said its because of the big joes. He also told me to put a 40 tooth gear on and it should bring it back. I got the gear but haven't changed it yet. I also am running a three shoe m2c clutch with the yellow .95 springs. could i just change the springs to the red .90 spring rate for better response. Or should i go to the black 1.0 springs?

Big Joes.....If you have a 3.3 then you better gear low, like 14/40. Those things are heavy. I loved mine until I actually drove them, they wobbled like crazy and are just plain heavy.....But they look awesome!

yeah, I dont have a problem with wobble...Just wont pull the front end. I want my wheelie action back, i bought them at hobby town (shoulda known better) told the person what i had, revo 3.3, he was like "yeah no problem, it'll still wheelie"...now gimmie your money...I thought i found a good thing till mounted. i guess i'll try the 14/40 combo and see weher that goes
