I am going to the hobby shop tommorow and I am going to replace my RC10GT's spur gear and clutch bell. I would like to have a good top speed So I was planning on getting a 16 or 17 tooth clutch bell with a 67 tooth spur gear, does that sound good for a top speed? also I am going to buy a new break fiber? and one more question are 3 shoe clutches better that 2 shoe clutches and if so what are the advantages?

On the gearing question, we need to know what your current gearing is in order to tell you definitively that you will see the increase in top speed that you desire.

On the brake question, is there a question? You made a statement and ended it with a question mark.

Finally, the three shoe vs two shoe question. Three shoe clutches engage much more quickly and have more surface engaging the bell. So you get quicker throttle response and the clutch stays engaged longer after you have released the throttle. So the real question should be what do you intend to do with your RC10GT, race or bash?

For top speed you will need to go with the largest bell you can find. the more teeth the faster the top end. For on road large oval tracks I run a 24t bell. I believe the stock is an 18 or so I could be wrong. You may want to look at 20t or higher.
64-65-66 on the spurr sounds good. Look at your bell and go up a few teeth. Look at your spurr and go down a few.

On the clutch, MIP makes a tunable unit. Its has 2 pads so you wont need to get a new flywheel. It uses little removable weights to help it engage quicker as well as 2 different post holes. Including leading and trailing, you can get 8 settings. GREAT UNIT.MIP CLUTCH

As for the brake a new pad never hurt. There is a cool brake unit that replaces the stock if you want to spend $32.00 is worth it.

thank you, my stock gearing is 15 tooth clutch bell and a 66 tooth spur, I have another question; Will a 24 tooth clutch bell fit on the a pull start engine? (because in the instruction manual it says that an 18 tooth probably wont fit)

Skymaxx- Yes the break statement was a question. Sorry for the confusion. I was asking if there was a fiber break for the GT and if I should get one.
thank you for the help guys, off to the hobby shop for a 17 tooth bell and a 64 tooth spur.

I have no idea about the bell over 17 not fitting a pull start. I have a bump start and it fits.

Get the smallest spurr and the largest bell that will fit Bring your ride to the LHS with you and see if they will let you try them on for size.

. What did you think of the brake link?

I like that brake link even though I don't understand completely how it works but it looks well designed and for 32 bones it better be. I got my new gears 18 tooth bell and 64 tooth spur=gear ratio of something like 9.2:1 as compared to 11.44:1 havent got to run it yet since I have no glow plugs but I'll let you know how it works out.
thanks
