(scroll to bottom for shorter less detailed question)

ok i already know this is a dumb question. but I'm looking for some confirmation... i had a slight exhaust leak, and then i went out with my friend to show him my car and stuff because he used to have one and is getting back into it and wants to see how it is now. well it was dark ,and i hit a little rock or crack in the road, and flipped my car a few times, it landed on the wheels and i kept driving. and the car seemed to be running ok (it was running a tad lean i think because it was getting that really fast highpitch run to it, like where the brakes hardly work because it is leaning out and pushing to hard. ) then i stopped it in front of me about halfway through the tank to put some more gas in and let him drive it, and it stalled. and wouldnt start again. we had noticed that the gas leak had gotten a little , or a lot, worse. the leak is right near where the exhaust line (fuel pressure line) goes into the tank. the engine would only start after we took off the glow plug and put some gas directly into the head . then it would run for about 10 seconds, then stall out and not start again. i want to just make sure this is a gas tank problem and not an engine or anything problem , being that i just got the engine about a week ago.

so to make a long story short, would a slightly cracked gas tank make my car stall out ?

Short answer,

Yes.

Long answer is you need pressure in your tank to push the fuel to the engine. You run the risk of blowing it up if it doesn't get enough fuel / lube.

Don't mess around trying to fix it just get a new one.

I have a bunch of cracks in my gas tanks.. i put some superglue on them and havnt had problems since..

The only thing I would be afraid of with the glue is the nitro breaking it down over a period of time.

It is time to get a new tank. They are much less expensive to replace than an engine. You could go the glue route, and you might fix it short term....BUT in the long term you will end up replacing the tank.

I dont know Its been over a year since I cracked my tank and its been holding up like it was new...
