I wonder what the deal is on the engines that run on water. Why haven't we seen them yet, or hardly ever heard of them? I know they have those engines that run on water for lawmowers and even golf-carts...
 
The carb that was supposed to get 80??? mpg. That the goverment bought? :shrug:
 
I saw a special on Good Morning America about some newer model bipedal (two wheel, for those of us who are a bit challenged) monsters that go up to fifty (!) MPH and run comletely on compressed air for as long as 200 miles. They say there are already compresed air fill stations scattered across California and New York, and several on the way to other states country-wide.

On average 19.7 gallons of gasoline come from a 42 gallon barrel of crude. By the time that they complete the process there is an approximate gain of an additional 2 gallons or a total of 44 gallons (processing gain). The 44 gallons consist of gas, fuel oil (heating oil), diesel, other fuels and oils, etc.

Some crude can yield more gas while others will yield much less depending on the loacation that it's extracted from.

the goverment did purchase a a car that gets milege up to 90 mpg and no its not on water its hydrgen, they use it in europe. Gov of california did, arnold sportsenager, "spelling" did. They have converted a hummer and a car dont remember what kind. But we have depended on oil for so long its hard to change. But cali has the right idea.
 
I knew there was someone who was going to think I meant the hydrogen fuel cell. But I am talking about an actual engine that runs on water. I think it may be the same as the hydrogen except that it breaks down the hydrogen+oxygen inside the engine. Later, if I can find it, I'll post up a link to the mower than runs on water. Last time I checked up on it a few months ago, it was still in development stages.

lol, I keep thinkin of that 70's show when I say "car that runs on water" and how in a few episodes where they're gettin high in the basement, hyde is like, "dude, they have this car that runs on water, man!" "it runs on water, man!" :LoL:
 
Fuel cells are unstable....how would you like every accident on the highway to set off a small Hydrogen bomb????
I went to lunch and was going to ask my buddy about the Diesel converter he tried, he's closed the front shop and making sandwiches for the FPL guys doing work down here, and they're sending 11,000 sandwiches and lunch thingies to New Orleans....I was shocked by the effort they are putting out to help that i forgot to ask about the converter....sorry....
 
lol, good point plaid, I NEVER thought of that. One bad crash...BOOM! hhhmmm...I wonder if my insurance covers entire towns....
 
That is true about the hydrogen going up in a hurry, because to keep hydrogen a liquid it has to be at a rediculus temerature, and incredable pressure, but we dont know if they have a solution to that or not, i have looked for info on these but am striking out everywhere.
 
Atlanta now sells regular unleaded for over $6.00 per gallon!!
 
Today here in cali, some gas stations on my way to work are confused on how much to gouge the consumer. There are 3 stations all within a 1/2 mile. One is selling regular unleaded for $2.89, another for $2.99, the last one is $3.09. Needless to say the last one was devoid of all cars at the pumps.
 
Most of the stations here were around $3.09 today. But there was one just around the corner that was still hanging at $2.95. So I didn't mind waiting a few turns to get to that pump.
 
Our gas stations in southern ohio are SHUTDOWN. we might not have school!
 
the thing is though that hydrogen vechicles produce the same amount of power then gasoline, the only difference is what you fuel it with. But it is very intristing, I'm still at 2.99 here in wisconsin. They said 9 rigs were down and thats the reason for the rise in price. BULLSH*T there are thousands of those damn things, 9 will not make a difference. thanks to all who is making a killing off this
