hmm. what do you meen? i meen... i think i know what you meen... but your making me nervous.. explain..................2stroke,petrol,T-MAXX!!!!??!

Well sorta. What I mean is that I want to put a gasoline engine in a tmaxx. i'l be braking new ground i assume so pics are a nessecity. Again, about the same as a trx 2.5 but gasoline. but a different engine.

your definatly looking at some serious costom fabrication between the clutch and gearind as well as mounting that monstrosity of a motor that is almost the same size as your t-maxx... it probly will never handle right. including turning, jumping or stopping...

alright well do you think I could run gas through a nitro engine? now i'm not about to go out and try it but i want thoughts. i would used mixed gas btw

slightly.. but workable.. the nitro carbs are designed to run on methyl alcohal and nitro methane.. wich is basicly an alcohal mix. were as to deisal is an petrolium mix.. two diffrent things... I'm not sure what your resoning for this would be... hopefully its not perfomance gains. couse you wont get that.... BUT.. you are on a closer track with the desiel... if you do a quick search on desiel rc's or something on youtube you will come up with a couple of folks that got it to work.. I've seen them, and am going to do a search as well.. I'm not sure what you have to do to convert it.. but i dont think its NOT much.. i would take a guess that it is basicly carb and glow plug work.. i'll be back in a minute hopefully with some more info... but check out youtube... YOU GOT ME GOING NOW... SUCKER!!

No its not performance gains. I was just thinking about availability of fuel. living on a farm as I do we always have farm diesel around. also diesel isn't 15 bucks a litre, or at least not yet...

Sorry itsalifeworthliving i couldn't find anything. not sure how you could make the conversion. any ideas?

Then this may be what you want to look into:

A vid of a revo running diesel with a OS18TM:

Not quite as snappy as my revo was running an OS18TM on nitro, but not bad either.

I don't see anything on their site about the 18TM conversion... but that's what the guy in the vid posted as to where he got his stuff.

I don't get it. so can I just run diesel through it and get a really hot glow plug? maybe diesel mixed with oil? i'm not sure.

Nope, You will be running rc diesel which has ether in it and costs $25 a gallon. The conversion comes with a different head that uses no glowplug and can adjust compression with a screw. You will also have to install a tiger drive as the pullstart is too difficult and the easystart burns up. You will not see much in performance gains but you will get about twice as much time per tank of fuel.

You just need to get a baja 5B, runs on pump gas (mixed with a small amount of 2 stroke oil) and runs for almost an hour on a tank of gas.

id like to see someone take a baja 5b mainframe and engine and transmission and make that fit on a t-maxx suspension setup. not familiar with the 5b at all though so i have no idea if it would work or not. but i think thats your easiest way to make a gasoline t-maxx.

As far as time, money, effort goes... you'd be better off buying a 1/5 scale gasser and forget about trying to fab something up for the maxx. The maxx's suspension blows. It's a relatively weak design. You add a 10lb (if not more) engine to to top of it, and you will quickly realize it's not a good idea.

Just my :2cents:.

DTX Firehammer

Or the XTM grizzly,
Or the MCD Baja 4wd gasser

you're probably right. so can anybody recomend a good 1/5 scale monster? it probably needs good suspension.
