g clip? thats a new one to me...there are wrist pin clips tho..i used a small pin to pull the clips out of the piston to do so. i uuse something similar to this to do it. pops the clips right in and right out with ease. but its not hard to do a rod. just make sure you not which direction the piston is in (there is a cut out on the piston "skirt" this goes towards the front of the engine due to its cut so it will not hit the crank and b.d.c) and not which direction the rod is facing out. normally with the groove, or cut facing out. pull the clips out of the piston, put the new rod in and put the new clips in making sure the clips are locked into their grooves firmly. put it all back together and let her go....i like to use a couple of drops of after run oil on both bearings on the new rod tho. just a thing i like to do. you definatly dont have to. but i havent had a problem doing it my way yet
Yeah, they aren't called G clips. I know, it's sometimes confusing because C clips are shaped like C's, and E clips are shaped like E's, but the conrod pins have a special name called wrist pin clips.
