I've had some contact via email with the "RPM Answer Man" concerning RPM making parts for the Savage.

The response is that they do not make parts that they feel do not need to be upgraded or made stronger. For instance, he feels that the arms and shock towers on the Savage are already strong enough.

He did ask if I felt there were any areas that could be improved. I told him that I'd like to see RPM bumpers and skid plates for the Savage.

RPM is very customer oriented and likes to get feedback on current and future products.

Help me convince RPM that we want parts for our Savages!!

Please list parts you would like RPM to make for the Savage and why you feel it needs to be upgraded. I will show this thread to RPM so they can read it and maybe we can affect future products!!

As I said earlier, I'd like to see new bumpers and skid plates.

I vote for Bumpers, skidplates and shock towers.

Hey Chris, this is the same guy you have been talking to over there. I mentioned RCNT once and he replied that he knows you. Small eWorld, huh?

Currently the only RPM parts you can use on your Savage are the lower spring cups (part numbers 73152, 73155, 73157, 73158) and the shock spring clips (part numbers 70322, 70325, 70327, 70328).

i say skid plates too but i have a question, if there are aluminum skid plates or whatever material they wanna use, will they get scratched up?? hehe i was thinkin bout it but was thinkin if you like land it hard and sparks will come out from the aluminum haha.later

To be honest, there's nothing i'd really change on the savage. I haven't had any problems with my skidplates, or a-arms...or anything really.

I just had contact with them as well and they also told me that the savage was tough out of the box and they were focusing on weak kits. They did tell me that they've got mgt stuff coming soon.

haha, in other words, they basically said, the savage owns the t-maxx in quality

i know everyone knows this, i just find it funny

oh man, hands down, Savage definately has the Maxx beat for QUALITY out of the box. HANDS DOWN!

But I love them both!

I haven't had any problems with my Savage either. The only part i've ever busted was an original upright but the updated ones have been fine.I've beat the living crap out of this thing and none of the major stock parts have failed!! One thing I do destroy alot though is the bodies LOL maybe RPM can make some of those LOL!!! A center skid would be nice though. All the ones i've seen on the market are alloy and a plastic one would be great for saving weight!!! Oh and maybe some body posts too.I destroy those often as well!!!

I personally believe any company could benifit from a savage product line, its so popular, people are gonna upgrade even if its not a weak point, just to have something alittle different from someone else,so I say a full line, shocks, towers, arms, bulks, knuckels, full skids,bumpers:w00t:

Savage stock plastic parts are tough. No argument there. But it RPM would make parts for it, Savage owners would eat them up for 1 good reason. The lifetime warranty against breakage.

suspension up-rights/wheel bearing hub assembly...me and my friend have broke that part of the truck..and only that part! some nice rpm ones would be great....

Darthracer, can you ask your buddy if they are thinking about creating a roll bar protector for the engine cooling head at all. I don't think there is any product out there right now that protects the head. And, if you look at it, the head is always the first part that either gets scratched or dented when your truck flips because it is almost always exposed, unless you have a body that covers it.
:flamer:

Thanks, I've seen those before. Problem with those is you only have limited choice for getting a body that would fit it the truck. I was hoping for just a roll bar kinda thing that specifically protects the engine head.

:cheerful:

Hmm, no more ideas or interested people??

I'm thinking about steering knuckles more and more.
