On a side note, what are your thoughts on the fury? The chassis style is pretty interesting. I was always a fan of the old style chassis with a wide and open layout. But I also dont want to just disregard the new style.

No. If you switch to brushless you have to swap out the 2in1 for either the 223s 2in1 or a esc/Rx/tx standalone. Brushed escs can't work with brushless motors for the most part in the industry.
My recommendation would be HW 10BL120 G2/WP with the 3660 motor option. 3700kv if your running 2s, 3150kv if your running 3s.
Note: For any brushless system you go with, make sure it is a 550 sized motor or at least a 3660, so it can clear the chassis. A smaller motor like a 3652 or 3656 could technically work but it would need to be a motor where the wires come out of the back of the endbell, not on the top of the can.
