is there a brushless motor upgrade for fury 550 mega that dosent require changing out the 2 to 1 esc receiver combo?

No. If you switch to brushless you have to swap out the 2in1 for either the 223s 2in1 or a esc/Rx/tx standalone. Brushed escs can't work with brushless motors for the most part in the industry.

My recommendation would be HW 10BL120 G2/WP with the 3660 motor option. 3700kv if your running 2s, 3150kv if your running 3s.

Note: For any brushless system you go with, make sure it is a 550 sized motor or at least a 3660, so it can clear the chassis. A smaller motor like a 3652 or 3656 could technically work but it would need to be a motor where the wires come out of the back of the endbell, not on the top of the can.

Welcome to the site. I'm not sure what car or esc but.......

Brushless motors have 3 wires with a different connector then the brushed motor with 2 wires. Whole some esc can do both most cars with brushed motors have brushed esc. Being a 2 in 1 I'm certain its probably brushed only.

Castle sidewinder is 125. Tgere are cheaper combos out there as well as more expensive ones.

I bought the fury when amain just had that big sale on them , from the urging of my local hobby store owner , my argument against buying it was being the price point to upgrade the motor receive esc i just should of bought the brushless , but he tried telling me there is a brushless combo without changing out the 2 to 1 esc receiver that would result in it being cheaper then the brushless version . oh well shame on me, anyway its a long winter ahead before next years outdoor race season starts that will give me plenty of time to upgrade it. my boy races in the novice class

On a side note, what are your thoughts on the fury? The chassis style is pretty interesting. I was always a fan of the old style chassis with a wide and open layout. But I also dont want to just disregard the new style.

Anyone know what they actually call the two to differentiate?

Am curious if you ever got your truck converted over? How do like it? What set up did you put in there?
I have the same brushed fury, and so far am happy with the performance with no plans to upgrade as of yet.
I could be wrong, but I believe the big thing on the conversion is the brushless esc has a converter built in. So output to the motor is a/c current, which is why you can't reverse the motor by just swapping the wires to reverse polarity. Also why it doesn't work if you mix brushed and brushless components.

will the stock fury 223s brushless esc/rx/tx work with your recommenation for for the hobbywing combo , its 45 amp ,i see the senton brushless is an 80 amp what do you suggest ? thxs

ops i ansewerd my own question it comes with an esc , so what do i do for a receiver? and keep stock controller?
