This might be a silly question but I am new so here goes....

I've just had to replace my fuel tubing on my savage and the tube I replaced it with looked slightly bigger in diameter and I've also not cut it to the same length as the previous tubing. Will this have any affect on my engine i,e will i need to retune it?? Is the length of the tubing important. Thanks

Which tubing did you replace? The exhaust or fuel tank? Also did you cut it shorter or longer?

Let us know and we can help out, b/c changing the diameter & length does have a small effect on your performance.

replaced both sets of tubing. The original tubing from my tank to the carb was wrecked so I'm not too sure whether i've replaced it with longer or shorter stuff.

You should be fine w/ replacing either line. Just make sure either aren't to long or to short. You will probably experience more problems if your exhaust line is too long b/c you won't get enough backpressure into the fuel tank. The pressure in the tank helps push the nitro into the engine. Thus, not enough pressure in tank equals overheating.

As far as tuning goes, you should be fine. Simply watch your temps and compare them to how they were before you switched out lines. If you do have to tune any, it should be minimal.

A good thing about a larger diameter fuel line is that if your truck flips upside down, it can actually run a couple of seconds longer than normal before it cuts out.

Thanks for replying. I'll give it a go tomorrow weather permitting. Thanks again

Keep an eye on temps because you will probably need to make some slight changes. Then again, changes in ambient conditions also require tuning changes as well. Bottom line, see how it runs.
