Fuel question

All i ever use is traxxas. GrudgE from here at this forum gave me like 3/4 gal of trinity mph but I am scared to use it because my other friend bought a gal of trinity mhp and it smoked his mill ok his falt. Then a nother friend used some of this same fuel and after about one tank he could not start his mill again. So we all think that fuel he had was bad could this be. Anyway that fuel ended up with GrudgE and he mixed the (bad) 20% with what he had left of his 30%. Should I be scared of this fuel I dont know what to do with it?
:\

Ps......The guy who used this fuel second and could not start his mill again is not a rc newbie he has about ten years in this hobby. He says that fuel must of did something to his carb. Mill would not pull fuel.

Moral of the story? Don't run old fuel. Especially after it burned up one engine! That's the expensive way to figure that out!:hehe:

isnt buying fuel in bulk stupid? i thought that fuel goes bad after a little while if it doesn't get used rite away.

It just depends on how fast you burn it up. You don't want to buy a years supply, but if you burn up 3-4 gallons a month, by all means save yourself some cash. Traxxas fuel goes bad after about 2 months in an opened quart. I've noticed this with my buddies 3.3. Tune goes goofy and it lacks power. The switch from that older trx fuel to byron's was huge. Smoother idle, consistent tune, ect... It's quite a bit better even compared to fresh trx fuel.

My buddy's been runnin' Byrons for the last year or so, and it does a real nice job. He keeps a gallon on the shelf and one opened, and it holds up well, too. He had an open gallon for about 3 months and when we finished it off and opened a new one, there was no difference in performance. I'd stay away from Top Fuel if you have the choice. It never gave me direct problems, but Byron's runs better. I've only compared those 2.

as long as it is stored in a cool dry place out of the sunlight, it will last for months. Think about your LHS, they order LOTS of cases. They just sit in the back until there is room on the shelf.

all you guys overpaid I get sidewinder 20% for 18.00 a gallon

All of you are killing me! I WISH I could get fuel for $45 a gallon. Right now I pay just about $60 a gallon for 30% Klots fuel. It is ok, but real oily like Traxxas fuel so it plays hell on the OWB. I have a choice of only a couple other brands Racing Art and NASA. Neither of those two make fuel in 30% so I am stuck. I tried Racing Art and good lord it makes a RC smoke like a freight train.

i just purchased a gallon of 20% of sidewinder fuel for 20.99 here in ny. i bought o'donnell last time that has a really bad smell.
