Hi All

Having visited my LHS today, looking for some 20 percent nitro fuel for the HPI Firestorm 10T, I find that they only sell 10 and 15 percent.

Although the manual recommends 20 - 25 percent...

Sorry for the long intro... What I need to know is; can I use the 15 percent fuel without harming the engine or it's performance...

All help and advice greatly appreciated

Regards

I, personally, would stick to 20% and up. Dont understand why your LHS dont have that, i would go check som' other hobby shop.

Your LHS doesn't carry 20% or better?!?! Odd indeed, I wouldn't suggest anything less than 20%. I'd look around more at other stores and see if you can't find it, I personally recommend either Trinity or Odonald's if you can find it.

The 15% will not harm anything. Your LHS needs to get at least 20% in stock if they sell cars/trucks.

I've noticed that from other users over on that side of the pond. Some guys that I've read run 10%. 20% is preferred for bashers due to it making the engine easier to keep running, decent power, cooler temps for the power you get.

I don't see 15% as a real problem unless the oil content is really high. Anything over 12% oil will more than likely make it tough to keep it running well with 15% nitro.

I have tried a couple of shops near to me and it's the same story. All bar one (out of stock) only sell 15 percent... I think I will order online, that way I can be sure to get the right grade nitro.

Thank you all for your imput and help

Order your self some Trinity Monster Horsepower 20% and you should not have any problems, also dose you LHS carry nitro cars and trucks? if so they sould not only carry 20% nitro but should have some 30% as well. but I would not recomend the 30% for just playing around or you will be buying a new motor sooner, 20% is the best way to go for all around performance.

All 3 of the LHS's I tried today carry nitro cars and trucks, but none stock fuel over 15%, only one of the three was willing to order for me (aprox 1 week) Sad waiting time seeing as how business is slowing down so much recently..

However. I did a search of online shops and found "Model Technics BigBang" 20% and Tornado 20%.Unfortunately, I can't seem to find Trinity Monster Horsepower 20% here in the UK.

Thank you for the advise and help
