Fuel Line Layout

My pressure line is kinda of short. I also have problems with tank pressure causing rich-lean swells. Thanks for the tip Larry! Welcome to RCNT.

OK, I lost a little in the translation (all that baching going on). But, hey, it's healthy to vent now and then. Either way, it sounds like the both of you are great assets to the forums. So, are the factory fuel line lengths OK, or can you shorten them and route them using the shortest path ? I have a Storm also and it does seem like there is an excessive amount of tubing. Anyways, I think I have two names that I will bookmark for the 'go to' guys.

The fuel line from the tank to the carb can be as short as you like. You can actually make both as short as you want them but the pressurizing line being longer and the excess put in several loops will benifit your fuel pressure. You will also benifit, in two ways, from installing an inline fuel filter. I use the type that unscrew so you can clean them (aluminum with internal screen). Benifit one is filtering fuel and secondly it gives a bit more fuel if you land on your roof before the engine dies. It is not long but every second can count.

I really would do what he is saying! You need a certain length for fuel to be delived properly. If you could just use 1 to 2 inch of line why doesn't ANY manufacturer do that? The more line from the tank to the carb the more "lid" time or time you can run while its upside down. I use 5-6 inch of line between my tank and carb. I heard from an AM buddy of mine who races in L.A. that you want your exhuast at least 2 inches longer than your fuel delivery line. If its too short you get air bubbles in you line which gives you poor performance. Take it as a grain of salt. Go to your track LHS and see what the racers are doing.
