For those who have (or know about) the Sullivan CT-1, I've always wondered if there is a correct and incorrect way to orient it.

Going from the fuel tank to the engine, should the screens be "cupped" or "bulged"? Hard to explain, and I'm not even sure it matters, but what I'm trying to ask is what side of the filter the fuel should flow thru first.

Also, would something like this cause a lean-condition and eventually overheating?

Obviously the filter is designed to catch contaminants. If the screen is at the tail end of the filter, then the 'cup' can hold all the tapped particles. I hope this answers your question.

also, after u have installed ur fuel filter, take an exato knife and mark a arrow on it, pointing to the carb flow. so that way when u take the fuel filter off and forget which way goes where, and u install it backwards, all the dirt goes into the engine. the arrow really helps.
