Agreed and I can understand ya wanting to stay on subject for everyones benefit SKy.

FYI guys, I was obviously reffering to the stock plastic or RPM plastic/vinyl shock towers when it comes to zip-tying the FF. If your running a metal shock tower you definitley don't want a metal FF possibly rubbing on it as has been pointed out to an extent in the previous posts. Another great way to install a FF is with stick on velcro with the FF mounted to the chassis. I've done this in the past on various cars, trucks and buggies and it worked great.

SKy - BTW...was the previous poster being as smartass or serious as I can't tell..lol? Seems like allot of people have been getting banned lately dude.

Yeah what is up with that?

I've responded to this question via PM to both of you. In the future, please send such questions my way via PM. No need to start such conversations in the public forum.

For those that really want to know, BMXMAXXS was given a vacation for being both a smartass and a useless poster. I say useless as his posts rarely contained helpful information and in most cases only took up space on the forum.

That is the last I will say on this matter within this thread. Now back to the question at hand.

I use fuel to clean it. WD-40 is not very gasket friendly and might ruin the filament, basket, or screen that acts as the filtering element.

I usually run a couple of squirts of fuel through the filter element. On occasion, I will actually run some soapy water through it and then run fuel to displace the water.

Sure didn't mean to start anything. Just looking for info as you are the experts. I mounted the fuel filter to the rear of the shock tower. It doesn't look bad and the length of the fuel line is ok. I would post a pic but not sure how. I also got the venom fail safe and attached it to the side of the receiver box with zip ties. Looks clean. As was said before..not a whole lot of room for add ons. How do you post your pics???

Don't worry, you were not the responsible party for starting something. Someone else came along and derailed your thread.

How do you post images? You can upload them into your gallery or you can use the attachment option when you post the reply.

I didnt mean to derail the thread I just thought that if someone were going to put a fuel filter on there car it would be worth while to know how to clean it. Right. But sorry anyways

LOL...guys, relax. The derailing of the thread occurred almost two days ago, and was done by BMXMAXXS. You can ask your questions as you see fit. If the mods think you are out of line, we'll let you know. Trust me, you will be told.

The question on cleaning the filter is a valid question.

In response to the origional question about the fuel filter mounting position I just twist tied mine to the fuel tank and it dosent touch anything and I dont get any interference.
