Ok, picked up an ofna ff, seems kinda big. where do you recommend i mount it and what about fuel line routing?

This filter seems rather large. it is an ofna 10166. where would you mount it so it is secure

On my T-Maxx, I route my fuel line and have my fuel filter beneath the fuel tank. I'd show you a picture but it wouldn't do the routing justice.

It is important to "mount" or "let it hang" in such a way to not permit the metal of the fuel filter rattle against the metal of the chassis. Why? such metal to metal contact can cause interference with the receiver and cause servo glitching.

I use Dynamite fuel filters. They work well and are relatively compact.

Sky is spot on as usual.

I checked out OFNA's site. That's a little larger in diameter and length then the Du-Bro "The Final Filter" that I run. I would serously reco that you run the fuel line behind the cooling head (behind the rear exhaust header) and zip tie the fuel filter to the upper portion of the rear shock tower. This is how I mount the fuel filter on my SIrio .18 (standard chassis Maxx) and and I never have any problems. THe thing you have to keep in mind with the standard Maxx chassis is that everything is cramped compared to a .21 chassis that has plenty of space to work with.

A pic would truly be worth a 1000 words for this but not Camera here.

Since a picture seems to be worth a lot more these days, here's one of my set-up. Note the fuel filter is sitting on a 1/8 inch thick closed cell foam pad and the routing leaves very little room for it to move. Also, this has the carb flipped so the HSN is closer to the fuel tank. In the end, the fuel only has about a 1 inch incline to climb prior to hitting the HSN.

Enjoy.

wow thx i been pondering where to place my new filter but I'm waiting 4 my engine to come in. also thx i hadent a clue that a littlie fule filter could cause glitching:iris:

I route my fuel line under the tank, out behind the rear shock tower, then back up to the carb, this gives me the length I want, easy access to the filter, and no glitches due to its location. I will get a pic up for you.

Thanks for the info and pics. I was also thinking of the rear shock tower. Better get more fuel line.

yeah i would like to seen them for my upcoming desision and El Pirata i can't see your pic 0-well
:horsecrap

I let mine hang and I put heat shrink around it and two zipties at each end of the fuel filter. BTW I use a DUBROE FF and it works fine for me. So if there were any fuel leaking it wouldn't give me any glitches plus no scratching or rubbing anything else.

Fuel leaking and glitching are totally unrelated...unless the fuel is leaking into your receiver box.

sorry there SkyMAxx . I took a previous post and toook it out of context. I guess the heatshrink will just prevent it from touching any metal parts. Sorry there SkyMaxx.

That it might.

No apology necessary. Just making certain that you had your information straight.
