Hooked up with my buddy today and his brand new redcat rampage buggy,it is a 4 wd model with a 30 cc two stroker, and the thing is just dumping fuel and bad its like a fuel pump, reminds me of a motor that has a sinking float, ...plug has good spark ,needles set to factory specs ,clean filter I even leaned the low end waaaaay lean and it Still just pumps fuel out the assend,it ran pretty good for two tanks then just quit! What's up with this thing ,if anyone can help me help him I would appreciate it fellas.

Is the fuel coming out of the exhaust or is it coming out of the overflow tube from the gas tank? You can't keep opening the main jet because it will flood it. You can't open the idle jet too much either. Is the vent for the gas tank clear? Make sure there is not a plug (or screw) in the end of the vent tube. What do you mean that it is dumping fuel? Is there fuel all over the back of the engine? IF there is, check the exhaust gasket where the pipe bolts to the block. Those screws have to have blue locktite or they will loosen up.

My losi xxxnt was doing the exact same thing..... ended up being a bad fuel tank. It wasn't sealed well where the 2 halves come together. Put a new tank on and bam. Runs perfect. Not sure if this helps but its some where to start .. .

A fuel pump? That carb has a diaphragm fuel pump that starts pumping when the engine starts. It circulates through the carb and demand pulls off what gas it needs. The black line off the bottom of the carb is the return circulating line to the tank. Check that line for leakage. Might have a hole in it from being burned on the exhaust pipe or leaking at the tank or somewhere else.

the fuel is just circulating through the engine,"like a giant fuel pump"and is just pouring out of the exhaust,

You buddy needs to contact whoever he bought that thing from and let them resolve it. It's new and shouldn't be doing that. I have no idea of why it is doing what you said unless it has blown a carb gasket or the main jet is faulty or ????

yeessir mr bones,i said that to him and he brought it there just a couple hours ago,......they put a new carb on it and presto! started up first pull he said, problem solved, probly was just a gasket.....thanx for the help

That's great. I'm glad he got it fixed. That engine should run great with no problems. It is a little monster and I'm sure you guys will see the difference now. Tell him when he gets time to check all the bolts for tightness and use blue locktite on them.

How are these redcat 1/5th scales? I've been looking at a few of them and thinking about pulling the trigger on one over buying a electric mt like an emaxx erevo or savage flux. Are they durable and are the engines reliable? I've read alot of bad stuff about redcat with durability problems and such.

which bolts mrbones,I'm guessing axhaust, carb exc?
