Fuel Check Valve

I just bought a fuek check valve today for the savage, you know, to keep constant fuel pressure thru the entire tank of fuel, I had notice before installing it that about half way thru a tank my engine would want to sputter out, but since I installed this check valve I have gone thru 2 full tanks of fuel with out as much as a hiccup! If anyone else is having this kind of problem I would suggest getting one of these valves, I paid $4.00 (american) for mine, damn good upgrade!:jet:

sure don't, I just went to the LHS and told them what I was looking for and why, they got it from the airplane/helicopter section and said it would work just the same for my Savage, after my origonal post I ran another 2 tanks of fuel and must say it does the trick :thumbsup:

hrmm , i run full tanks to the very bottom without one of those.. usually thats a tuning issue, try to richen it up some.

These check valves have been used on rc airplanes for years, mostly on presurized systems like YS and OS pumped engines

I'd bet if you look at the fuel tank's lid it is venting preasure from there at high RPMs put it may help hold presure at lower RPMs

Did you have to make any adjustment to the neddles?
low end especially?

Actually no I haven't made any adjustments at all and I believe that may be part of my running issue, seems that it wants to suddenly die and is a realy biatch to get started again, not to mention the raw fuel that pours out of the exhaust........could be too rich or maybe I just need to remove the one way valve, could it be too much pressure and forcing too much fuel thru the carb?

When the engine stop all that presure has to go some where
it will get push into the carb until the presure is all gone

If you're going to run that check valve, as soon as you stop the engine lift the lid on the tank to releave the presure, then the engine won't get flooded so bad.

The airplane engine that use those valves have fuel regulators built in to prevent this type of flooding, but we still vent the tanks after the flight.

I would have guessed that using the check valve would make your low end run richer. It sure can't hurt other than the flooding

Yea I got to thinking about that, if the car does stall where does all that pressure go? It sure don't stay in the tank:spit: , I think I will more than likely just take it off since it seems it will be more a burden than anything else, thanks for all the feed back guys!
