is there any way that i could make the spur gear smaller on this car as i would like to get a bit more speed out of it

Yes and no. Just depends as this is a cheap car off of Amazon. Might be able to rig up a actual spur gear.
We just need to know what pitch it is, and what the teeth count is.

Honestly I would change the pinion. Spurs are only certain sizes. Pinions come in every number. Becareful, if it's brushed it may overheat.

it has 50 teeth but i goes on the awd axle that connect the front and the back
