I have an older T-maxx that I have not driven in 2 or 3 years. Last time I put it up I had broken one of the axles and then let my son push it around. I put it all together last night stated it up and the front wheels are spinning in the opposite direction as the rear wheels. Does any one have any ideas what might be wrong. As I mentioned it has been a while since the last time I have looked at it and I think I have had this problem before. Thanks for any suggestions

Who's sugermaster?

One of your diffs is upside down. Does your trans have forward and reverse? If it has both, put it in forward gear, then figure out which diff is backwards. Although, if you go to traxxas site and look at the parts explosion, they do show them in the proper orientation.

I did it once. Put it on the ground, fired it up, hit the gas, it just sat there. I picked it up, hit the gas, wheels spun... put it on the ground, gas'd it again... still sat there. Was in too big of a hurry to realize front was spinning forward, rear was spinning backward.

Sugermaster1970 has been contributing quite a bit lately. He puts pictures of his rigs in every post. Seems pretty knowledgeable.

But, to put it in backward would be to have the output facing the wrong way. To install it upside-down would be the correct terminology. And yes, the shaft would still mount up upside-down.

I thought I read on here about people doing that. Seems like an easy enough mistake. That's why I set the diff right next to me the way it goes in the truck. And only take one end of the rig apart at a time. I'm a little sloooooooooooooooow!

I put mine in upside down. I just made a post about this. Turned around the diff and the truck runs great.

Thank you

Thank you for everyone's help. I now remember the reason I stopped driving the T Maxx. I had stripped the diff gears and had to go back to the originals and put it in wrong. I fixed it and it worked great until something else broke. You name it, it broke. I did not even jump it. I was being extremely conservative. We just moved out to SC from the Mountains of CO and it has a lot more power at sea level. :)
