I finally found out about a good off-road track around my area! So my gf and I went up there today to check it out (the track isn't always open, only at certain times). I've never seen races live before, so I was pretty pumped.
They started with the 1/10 trucks, which were pretty fun to watch. Then the monster trucks raced, and then after those came the 1/8 buggies! I tell ya what, the 1/8 buggies are definately the bad-asses on the track.
We stayed for about an hour and half. I even did a little turn-marshalling! Gotta watch out with the buggies, man you go to flip one over and another is whizzing right behind you.
Originally I just wanted a buggy to bash around with, now I think I'm gonna have to get into a little club-level racing!

Here's what the track looks like: http://www.victorylanekarting.com/RC 2003/pre main 112203.MPG

Yep, the buggies are bad....

I have a Hyper 7 with Pivot ball suspension for sale down in the for sale section. Check it out if you are interested.

Man, that track was nice as hell. LONG straight followed by a tight left turn into a big tripple (<---where I was marshalling...busy area).
The track is just outside of Charlotte, NC, just on the edge of Huntersville.
Every year there is a huge 1/8 buggy race there that probably brings in close to 10 pro drivers. Admission for that race is $45! Last year the listings went all the way down to F.

Makes me extremely jealous when I see tracks like that. I think me and Imbroken are going to have to build our own and go into business. It truly sucks around here as far as nitro tracks go.

Yeah, my fiancee's parents have 14.5 acres of land....I think I'm gonna steal 3 of them.

My dad is retiring in March and him and my mom just bought a place with 30.6 acres. They told me that I could use a few acres if I wanted. The only problem is I am in Indy and they are moving back to Kentucky.

This is my track. It's indoors, kinda has to be since it is raining here like all the frickin time.

In that second picture if you look at that wall just to the right I had that thing at like 40mph with my Nitro MT. The track changes like every two weeks so it's pretty much always new.

From what I can tell by looking at the pics on there website. They are in a pretty rural area. Thats the problem. Real estate is so high in my area that no one in there right mind would build an RC track when they can sell the land to build houses on it.

msly, it is somewhat rural there. And you're right, that's why there aren't any outdoor track actually in Charlotte. You couldn't turn a profit from it. You need the land, equimptment to build the track, a driver's stand, lights to light up the track, someone to run power to those lights and the driver's stand, electronic gear for lap times, someone to run the track, etc etc etc. It can get damn expensive.

The track I posted the link above is actually next to the guy's house. He owns an indoor go-karting place here in Charlotte and his family does quite well. The website to that is www.377fast.com , and that's also where he posts his RC race info.

Damn Nice Track Gil!

Glad to see someone else getting the 'buggy fever' heheheh.....

They are so badass and fun to drive. Fast as all hell too!

and just think..10 years from now, our kids will be laughing at our "badasses.":flamer:

KIDS now that's a bad word don't even mention that. J/K. Ya know I am debating whether to keep hopping up my savage or get me a buggy. I have an itch for that truckzilla kit but watching those buggy's go around the track so smooth I was a little jealous honestly. At the track I go to at least this seemed to be the guy's with the most run time. Late

Hey Gil, where in Huntersville is that track? I lived in the Vermillion in Huntersville for a year and never even knew about that track. I either went to the Grove in Rock Hill SC or to hobby park in Winston Salem.

That track was sweet i wish my track was like that but $45 to race that is a little much but it is proubly worth every penny. But here is a link to my track it is ok:

Where it says racetrack in the left bottom corner you have to highlight it and pull it down then click on pictures to see the track.

It's on the outside of Huntersville. Are you pretty familiar with Charlotte? The track is off Hambright Rd. Coming from Charlotte, go down Harris Blvd then turn right onto Old Statesville Rd. Go down there for a few miles then turn left onto Hambright Rd (there's a middle school and an elementary school side by side. It's down there. It's pretty new (about 2 years old).
