I didn't mean to bash what you said. I was just pointing out how a lot of people won't try certain products because others tell them how bad of an experience they had with a similar product before. If you don't try new products, you'll have to wait until someone says its good, or a magazine gives it the thumbs up.

One problem I did see, is their claim of the filter having 13.8 CFMs of pressure and it filters to 20 microns. Don't microns work in reverse for units? The higher the microns the finer the particles or holes in the mesh screen.

My concerns with your link are this:

1. Nowhere on Fram's site do the even mention RC air filter applications.
2. The product number (hvf20) is not reference anywhere else but on that site. It doesn't index on the Fram site. Nor does a search bring up any reference to that stock # being a Fram filter or even an RC filter except on that site.

And another thing. Much like you mentioned. Sure, it appears his test indicates better airflow. OK. But so far there has been no data in conjunction with that which shows that it filters debris any better than foam. One could argue also that the increase in airflow may be due to a more porous filter material which ultimately may allow larger debris into the engine.

I am open to new technologies, too. I'm sure the foam isn't the ultimate in filtering. But there are inconsistencies in this which don't sit well with me yet.

like $18.. No matter what anyone tells me, a paper filter, supercharger or nos will NEVER see time on ANY of my rc's.. EVER

sweet because ebay has one 11.00 and my lhs (local hobby store) has it for 25.00 so I'm just gonna get the brand new off of ebay then so thx guys

THat soposibly air filter looks alot like the oil filter for my xr400 dirt bike:LoL:

That is EXACTLY what it looks like!!! I have not seen any other air filters that have metal rings on the outside. But ALL of the internal dirtbike/quad engines have something that looks like those.
