What does a foward only conversion look like? Where can I get one? And how hard are they to install?:bandit:

This is the Traxxas forward only gear and shaft, other companies make them also

You can order this one directly from Traxxas and it is not hard to install if you follow the directions

I have it in my #1 maxx and it rips

forward only gear and installation

Traxxas makes it,

I installed it in my maxx and it works, especially off road. My maxx will do dougnuts like you wouldn't belive and it is supposed to increase top end and tourque when you have the carb agusted right.

I bought the foc and installed it but when i roll my maxx backwards it makes a growling noise that it never made before is this normal? also when i installed it 2 shims fell out would this have anything to do with the gear noise when the maxx rolls backwards?:bandit:

it just sounds like gears rolling. just like if you held the maxx up and let it free wheel.

can you roll it backwards without wierd noise when the engine isnt started? if you can it shouldnt be a problem because when you roll backwards your clutch shouldnt be engaged because your at idle. if your clutch is engaging at ilde i could see where your gears could make a grinding noise. could also be the slipper I'm not sure?

when i roll it backwards it rolls the clutch and all backwards when it is not running

FOC Question

The FOC conversion converts the transmission to direct drive. Therefore, if the truck is not running and you roll it backwards the spur gear will spin opposite of what it should. This in turn will spin the clutchbell. If you installed the FOC correctly this is probably the whirring noise you are hearing, and it is normal. After installing the FOC you should have two teflon shims left over among your other parts. One is a 8x12x0.5mm and the other is a 5x8x0.5mm. If all that you are hearing is a whirring sound and not a grinding you should be fine. You might check your spur gear mesh. If it is too tight or too loose it can be pretty noisy.

FOC

I wasn't aware that there was a limit on the length of posts these days. My answer may not have been the "short" answer, but it did answer the question completely. In the future, I will try and keep things short. That way everyone can keep up.

You did all of that and more. No keep long answers they are informative for those out there that need it. I was not meaning to dissuade you from answering posts completely. It was compliment that I gave.
