Wanted to share my pic...

This is my HPI Ford GT body on my RS4 Evo next to the real thing. I had the opportunity to take the real GT for a drive and man, what a car!

If you have a spare 250K sitting in your console's change holder I suggest buying one... :spit:

But if not, then just do like I did and spend the $25 bucks on the HPI version. It's the most realistic body out there....

You got to drive a Ford GT! You lucky basdard! I got to sit in a Ferrari Enzo but I didn't get to drive it (obviously) Thats a sweet pic man! I take it you have a Mustang...lol

Two actually...

A '90 hatch with a 347 stroker and nitrous (450hp off the bottle) and a '66 hardtop, fully restored show/cruise mobile...

Thinking my next project will be a '66-'68 Fairlane or maybe a '34 Ford three window coupe kit car...

It's only money, just wish I had more of it!

my dad and I built a 67 Ford fairlane Convertable a few years ago. Sweet ride! I take it out all the time in the summer.. The ladies like it too..hehe

I actually have three of them.

The red one with white stripes is my newest. I also have a blue with white stripes (my first body ever painted and I screwed up and forgot the window masks!)...

I also have a white with blue stripes I haven't trimmed for a body yet...

The white one is shown here with my Saleen S7 and Saleen Mustang...

My original blue body GT is to the far right in my storage container...

your talkin 1:1's right? Thats what I meant by me and my dad redid a 67' Ford fairlane.. If your talkin lids, be sure to let me know where ya can get a fairlane one! Thatd kick ass!!

I mean 1:1....

Never seen a Fairlane lid. Someone should do more vintage cars. HPI is coming out with a '66 Mustang fastback soon but it would be cool to see a Fairlane, GTO, Chevelle, etc...

buzzard...

The headlight buckets just need careful trimming and then a small amount of servo tape to hold them in. They make the lid look so sweet and realistic. I've used them on my GTs, the Saleen S7, and the HPI Gallardo body I did for a coworker...

The light buckets are actually pretty easy. Did one on my C6 Vette. Trick is to trim the inside part of the lights very neatly. They slide right into place. Real neat effect.

Hey Mustangman just a little curious,do you work for a ford dealership? I do and at my place the only one who even got a chance to drive this thing is my Gm.only 20 feet from the driveway on to the showroom floor.Even our potential buyers are not even allowed to drive it.Have a couple of guys that i know from around the buisness and at their dealerships are not even letting their customers test drive their gts.Car is awsome tho,my place has white with blue strips.

Budda...

I know how you feel dude. I hear that from most dealerships. The Ford dealer near us just sold theirs for $285K...

But, I'm a journalist. Got to drive 'em so we can tell you what they feel like!

I actually put about 200 miles on that one! :spit:

dude, there is no way you put 200 mikes on that car.I can think of 2 reasons right of the top of my head.
1- any kind of milage is going to decrease the value of that car by ALOT of cash.
2- no one would by that car with that kind of milage, who in there right mind is going to pay that kind of money (what ever it is) and have that kind of milage on a very limited production car.
I know for a fact not even the president of ford motor or the big wigs got to drive the car.
i now one dealer in my region who has 22 potentail buyers current bid is at 314,000
my place has 10 buyers managers are not telling us the current bid
I showed this forum posting to my gm,he laughed his a** off

:trout:

OK, laugh if you want.

Here's the whole truth and you can show him THIS post...

I work for Primedia Publishing, you know Hot Rod, Car Craft, etc. I work for one of their Mustang titles and we had a GT from their PRESS FLEET for a weekend.

It is a preproduction unit that will be crushed when the PR Fleet is done with it...

I even wrote a bit of edit for RC Driver on the experience and it will be in an upcoming issue soon...

As you can see by the odometer there's quite a few miles on this test mule. The trip odometer was my mileage....

The speedo was just one of several test runs that day...

I guess if this isn't enough for you to believe me I don't know what else to say...
