I recently had a problem with my force .26 engine on my Violator. When I opened up the engine I noticed the connecting rod was damaged, whats the cause of this-ist this a warranty item? I called OFNA and they said they would have to look at the engine so I'm sending it to them, any arguments/statements that I can make that would be persuasive?

it was broken, I didnt do anything, no jumps, no bad terrain shifts, just may have over run the shaft start a couple of times

the shaft starter would not cause this damage, it is not directly connected to the crank. there is a one-way bearing acting as a coupler. as to what caused your damage i can't say. pics would help a thread like this.

Con rods break due to neglect, over-rev'ing the engine, running too lean, holding WOT too long or there's a defect.

Was your flywheel slipping or something causing it to wrap out insanely? I've had that a few times, but didn't cause any damage. You'd be surprised how these engines sound with absolutly no load on them. Like a bumblebee on cocaine!

No nothing like that, must be a defect? Maybe running too lean? Ill post pics tomorrow for advice
