The one thing I really like about my newest Maxx is that I bought it on eBay for $500. It's got Hardcore extended chassis, RPM arms, RRP gears throughout, CVDs, OS .21, etc., etc. Plus the guy threw in an extra OS .21 motor, radio gear, bags full of spare parts, lots of high-quality tools and hundreds of brand new fasteners. He built it to race, so it is scratched up, but it handles beautifully, much better than my stock 2.5 Maxx with a Picco P2.

So my advice for those contemplating a new Maxx is check out eBay. I see lots of trucks there that people have spent tons of money on. With prudent and careful shopping (and a little luck), you can get a Maxximum truck for minimum cash.

To respond to the original question in this thread, my biggest dislike is the puny, tempermental .15 engine Traxxas seems hellbent on using. I can't believe they are using it in the Revo too.

Don't get me wrong. when I got this truck in a trade, it was nicely done and was used for bashing. It was very hopped up when I got it, and was a great deal.
It's that I am a perfectionist when it comes to my cars and trucks.
I need it to be as close to perfect as possible.
I just asked because I want to fix the parts that will break before I get frustrated.

Nicely done. :D

I think you will find that this thread has answered a ton of those questions with some good information...at least a really healthy start for you.

Things I would have done dif fon that maxx.

1. DRCE(?) chassis. the HCR Ti chassis deff has some FLex to it.
2. Front Alum bulks just never got around to it.
3. RRP steal FOC instead of the Traxxas Plastic one.
4. Diff.

I had some really nice shocks but never put em on because I only used it a few times in winter so didnt feel like it.

If I had it come summer I woulda got black oxid. alen heads to replace them POS SS screws.

If anyone knows about that chassis, let me know.
The front aluminum bulk,
RRP steel foc is on order,
the RRP steel diff set is on order too.
Thanks Chris

Your 100% right.
This has been a big help.
More info that I will use to my advantage.
Thanks everone for all the info.

RATZ,

For RACNG that TI chassis should do you fine. Its light. like I said I was a basher on my Full scale Moto-X track I have out in my back lots. so I would have enevtually liked a stronger heavy duty chassis.
