Definitely more rigid,

It's heavier than plastic, lighter than aluminum, and most brittle of all. If you NEVER hit things or get hit, go for it, you'll love the suspension benefits, but IMO its not worth the heartache of having to replace everytime you get hit unless your seriously into racing. I know it said "for all you TC3 owners"...but I've had an old RS4 2 with the woven graphite, carbon graphite, and 7075 chassis combo. That's what I've got from it.

ok. i was just looking for some good hop ups for when get mine.

I have used these parts on my Nitro TC3 while I still raced it. I would pick these parts over the plastic any day.

Reasons
  • Hold suspension settings better
  • Rigid
  • Take a beating
Yes it is a bit heavier, but not by much. The reason you want this for your arms and steering knuckles is for racing applications. They will hold a setting (camber, toe) much better than plastic. Yes they will snap but snap cleanly.

Plastic is good since it bends more before breaking but if it's bent, it will give false readings and will be fighting you all over the place. As I said it will break (as with anything on a track) but if you hit hard on an onroad track, it will be with some serious speed. Everything breaks with a hard enough hit.

This carbon upgrade is worth every penny in a racing situation. If you are just in the park, I would say to stay with plastic.

I had that on my ntc3, if I recall (it's been a few years since installing), I dropped around 15-25 grams. Had at least one really bad crash, at 50mph it started cartwheeling and didn't stop until 200 feet later....broke one a-arm(if memory serves me correctly) and that was it.

I have the team kit and it has theses parts all ready. But when its cold it seams to break easily.

In the cold ... everything will be a bit more brittle. I have snapped plastic just as easily as carbon when the temperatures dropped.

since i will most likely not be racing ( to far ). do you think they will be making any aluminium arms for it any time soon.

I'm sure someone already makes aluminum arms for it. I've got a 7-bolt front bulkhead for mine (haven't broke a diff housing since). Alum generally makes it a little heavier. Carbon should lighten it up a slightly, but if your not racing save the cost and go plastic.... its more forgiving.
