my FOC is coming in on friday, how much will this help my acceleration? and how much do you have to take apart ot get into the tranny to swap that reverse clutch for this new shaft?

The FOC will improve the T-Maxx's acceleration greatly. Installation of the FOC is very easy. The provided instructions are very easy to follow. Yes you will have to take apart the tranny to complete this mod.

I just did the FOC last week. It's pretty easy to do. Just make sure you don't forget to put the bronze cylinder for the brakes back in. It's not funny havin no brakes. LOL

the FOC is pretty easy as mcvickj has already stated, just follow the instructions.

You will notice that acceleration will be smoother, and more instantaneous. It is a great mod to do. Reverse is for Radio Shack trucks.

Not only is it smoother, but it helps preserve the life of the trans internals. No more idle lurching on you.

You have to pull the trans, which is 8 screws to gett it off the chassis and unhooking the brake linkage. Getting the sliders back together is kind of a pain, so it's best to disconnect one end on each slider, preferably the ends closest to the trans before you start and the last thing you do to put it back on.

Like the others have said....an FOC Is FOC'N nice and will add some serous Foc'n acceleration.

It wont add any top end speed but it will make acceleration almost instintanious and will get rid of that annoying clicking noise. If your racing ROAR or just with your buds, the FOC is a must. I definitley don't think that Reverse is for "Radio Shack" trucks but to each their own. Some rc vets I know like to have the reverse but most don't.

Peace

I personally am lazy and like the reverse but as 30% said to each his own. A little off topic but does the 2.5 T-maxx have a 2 speed reverse too.

It does if you don't flip it first. Whenever mine shifted when I was in reverse it was because I was about to do something stupid. But with body roll, hat's off to you if you can control it!

Exactly,

If you can control your truck going 35MPH+ in reverse then you've got skills and a nice setup..lol.

In a hard day of bashing I'll probably use reverse like 10 times. It's nice to have but as others have pointed out in other threads, It's damn good excercise to go get your truck. Half the hardcore people I know in this hobby could more then use some excercise..lol.

What you trying to say?
:ahem:

New Nitro Kit - $400
Support tools - $200
2 gallons of fuel - $80
Watching a fat man chase after a 60MPH car to try to prevent a crash - Priceless
