Hey RCT! I've been looking at all new rims, tires, and inserts for my TRX-4 this summer. I was wondering what everyone's experience is with silicone inserts. They seem pretty good for how much water I go through with this thing, it would drain out better. I have foam inserts on the tires now, and they always get extra heavy when waterlogged, then take a long time to dry out.

I have a few sets of the TwoBrothers anti foams and a few sets of the silicone inserts by injora. While I like the TwoBrothers antifoams better, for the money, the silicone ones are pretty darn good. I like them a lot better than any standard foams and even better than proline 2 stage foams.

What's the advantage of anti foams over silicone?

The antifoams are lighter, which could be good or bad, depending on what you want. The antifoams come with inserts to tune compression, and the sidewall portion is more stable.

It really depends on what I am doing.
For tire tuning my comp rigs I am running exclusively foams with an exception of a set of 1.3 Injora Cling On's using their green silicone inserts.

The thing I noticed right away was the added weight over a foam. They also didn't seem to conform to the face of the rocks the way a tire running foams did.

If I was doing water crossings that would be a completely separate conversation; I think I would be using inserts exclusively.

I'm no expert but I find the silicon inserts (like Injora's) tend to not fit the tyre particularly well compared to a foam insert, either they are too big or too small so have a saggyness to them, but they do seem to work well.
I also have single foams and dual Prolines, for me they all seem to work, just depends on conditions of use as people say.
If you go in water alot I would say the silicons would be the best option..!!

Top tip and more important, get the correct weight related insert for your rig, the ones below are silicon but I ended up changing them due to them being too soft for this rig..
Second tip, (again, I'm no pro) use slightly softer in the front vs the rear

Some tires don't play well with silicone inserts, you need to pay attention to the width as well as the diameter. I haven't personally had any issues, but have heard others complain about side to side issues.

I have 2bros anti foams in my SCX6 and they work really well.
