Foam alternatives?

Hey all,
I just purchased some hpi Baja 5t trenchers and am looking for some foam alternatives, foams are expensive for the 5th scales, I was thinking some black foam tubing used for pipes may work, I have some laying around, is this a good idea, I would really hate to rip the tires. I’ll post a pic of the tubing I am talking abt.

I honestly believe it would be too stiff of a ride. I also would rather spend the money on decent foams than blow out a expensive tire.

That’s fair, so it won’t be good, anyone know of cheap foams?

that pipe foam will not work..I've seen guys use all kinds of stuff nothing works like the designed product.

I'm not aware of anything that would be as good. Just get the regular foams for RC tires but get closed cell foams, they'll last longer.
