There is a part that came in a small bag in the kit. Not sure if it is for the plane or the transmitter that comes with the kit. Is it to secure the battery in the front compartment? It has 3 holes and a poker for the middle hole. The outer holes look like silver metal female jacks. Tiny.

Thats a binding plug for binding a Transmitter to the receiver. You'll want to hold on to it, some day it may come in handy if your tx/rx come unbound or you want to change one of them. The manual will include directions on how to use it for your specific Tx/Rx combo

Yep, binding plug, don't lose it. As @Beer_Goggles_RC said, there will come a day when you may need it.
