Is there a easy way to get the nut in front of the flywheel off. The motor is a Savy 25 that I got used, I dont think it was ever taken apart. I tried clamping the fly wheel with a vice, but those 3 metal pins that the clutch goes on makes it close to imposible to get to the nut. I am somewhat new to this so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

A 10mm deep socket on a socket wrench along with the aforementioned vice grip or channel lock holding the flywheel works. You can also find flywheel wrench tools that catch on the pins if you're concerned about marring the flywheel. Search eBay for flywheel tool and you'll see an example or two.

Personally I don't like marring up my flywheels with the primitive grab the flywheel with channel lock method. You can use a flywheel wrench, or piston locking tool.

I'd agree with you if I used a bump start. As it is though, doesn't seem to make much difference. The only downside now is when I stop the engine by touching the flywheel with my screwdriver, it chews the handle up a bit more.

I never liked the thought of using the piston lock tool though.

Thanks all, sorry for taking so long getting back to u all. I finally got it off with the 4 way wrench. But after clamping on the flywheel some. I have alot of scratches on my flywheel now. I do'nt think it will hurt anything but we'll see. Thanks again
