Fly wheel problem

Finally got parts in and rebuilt Picco Trinity XP.12 and it runs great. But, I can't keep the flywheel tight. It holds to start the engine 2 or 3 times, then just spins on shaft. Maybe I put it back together wrong (all 5 times) or something. Where can I find a diagram of how clutch and fly wheel assembly goes on crank shaft?? Any help appreciated!!!

The collet might be worn out. I would suggest getting a new brass collet and some shims to place behind it so that the clutchnut can compress it completely.

Sounds like a shim or two might be needed behind the collet.

I'm having the same problem,but with a differnt engine,any idea where to find shim's?

Or the flywheel may be worn out wear the collet sits. If it slips, it chews both the flywheel and the collet up some.

Try the shims behind the flywheel if you have room. Use shims that aren't any larger in diameter than the back of the collet.

I believe towerhobbies sells an ofna shim kit... works fine for me.

also check to make sure that the collet doesn't protrude from the front of the flywheel when its all the way in. if it does, you will be tightening the clutchnut down on the collet instead of the flywheel, which can also cause the problem your experiencing. i had that happen on my sirio .15 in my super when i first put it in. to fix the problem either use a different collet or trim the tip of it off with a dremel.
