RC Driving Style
  1. Bashing
  2. Racing
My back yard track is set up to get practice for just about every race situation. I have long a straight, woops, rough spots, tricky jumps, and some tight turns. In one of my turns I seem to flip over about 2 out of five times so I started to slow down and hit the turn different than before and still the same result. This turn is no worse that some on most tracks is there any thing I can do to the suspension to help with this? I am wanting to move from bashing to racing this spring and the fine tuning of the set up is new to me and any help would be great. Thanks

What rig are you driving?

First off...what rig are you running?

How are you taking the corner? Outside>In? Inside>out? How sharp is it? What tires are you running? What type of dirt?

Usually traction rolling is from either too much traction, bad suspension setup, or bad technique. If your suspension is too soft, it will transfer weight easily and also add to the traction roll tendency. Too hard and it could be hard to handle.

Answer the above questions....we'll see what we can do to help you out.

In general, cornering is an art form and being fast in the corners is what wins races (along with a laundry list of @ 20 other things. haha). My best advice without knowing the answers to the above questions is to slow down...and use an outside>in approach. Setup wide.....apex at a point on the track that will put you on the inside line or the middle line coming out of the corner...and go from there. Basically draw a line in your head with the shortest distance of track around the corner...and try to follow it as fast as you can without rolling or sliding or stopping ;-)

I am running the losi 810 with stock tires, from what you said I think that my setup is to soft. I went the wrong way thinking that it was to stiff so I changed it and then change how I was entering the corner. I will go back to what I was running first and see how that is. Thanks

If you still have problems, try adding some more negative camber to the wheels. Or add a stiffer sway bar to the rear, that will stop the rear from rolling and keep it flatter in the turn. It may hurt the performance in other ways though.

Just remember to try one thing at a time, so you know what worked.
