Does anyone know if its possible to make flamethrower exhaust for an RS4 RTR 3. If so where can u find it

this sounds like your car will have back pressure broblems if you do this. Interesting if you get it done. But I think that you will need to have a separate fuel injection system.

Fire + Plastic = Bad.

Bling gone wrong?

Get some video if you do do it.

In order to do it on a 1:1 car, an ignitor has to be mounted in the exhaust tip ... aka spark plug. The park plugm when ignited, will spark and cause unburned gasoline to combust.

I'm sure it's possible to do on a nitro car. All you would need is an electricity source, some type of spark plug (or glow plug). A third channel to switch on and off the current. Over all, it's a very stupid idea. Not practical and a fire hazzard.

Leave it for the movies and 1:1 cars.

Well I've accidentally spilled Nitro fuel on a lit glowplug still in the ignitor and nothing happened. I dont see how SPENT nitro fuel would ignight. The only way I see it working is if you were to find a way to inject butane into the exhaust pipe and have some sort of ignition device at the rear to light the butane but you have to make sure there is constant pressue in the pipe. If the butane gets into the engine your done.

If the ignitor is not placed in a correct spot, it WILL back fire and explode the trapped fuel in the pipe. I've seen it happen on a 1:1 car.

I just think it's a bad idea overall... granted it'd be cool as hell if you could pull it off... for show obviously, but it would just be so friggin complicated. I don't think you're gonna get nitro fuel to flame up... it's probably not flammable enough w/o pressure. then there's the butane idea as stated above... now you got another fuel system... some sort of ignition system and... well. it'd just be complicated. Now if you got the drive and ingenuity to do it.. I say go for it, but personally i would write it off and think of some other "first".

If you drop a cigarette into a bucket of fuel, chances are pretty good the cigarette will just go out. (Not recommended, tho). :smoke:
Fuel in the form of a gas is much more combustible than liquid. (think of fuel atomization). If you tune your engine rich enough so that the exhaust is rich in unspent fuel, all you would need is an ignition source in you exhaust pipe.
I'm sure it can be done. :2cents:
Like previously mentioned, get some video of it if you try it...

I'm not sure if itd even work if you had the ignitor in the right spot and such. I think this ful misxture is to rich. (Just my personal opinions though) Like if a person droped a match in a bucket of gas it goes "WOOF" but if a person drops a match in a bucket of Diesel fuel it just goes out because of the lack of oxygen. Now if you were to spray diesel fuel on a fire and give it proper oxygen it lights up like nuts, so I personally dont think itd work on nitro gas. I could be way off though

No-one has mentioned the one thing that is most obvious, alcohol burns almost invisible. Even if you did get it to ignite, you wouldn't be able to see it very well. That, and the oil in the exhaust, which is what makes most of the smoke trail, has a much higher ignition point. Maybe you could try it on a 1/5 scale witha gas engine. That would be pretty cool. :smoke:

well i have pourpsely(sp?) burned my nitro fuel and the only way i could tell that it was burning is from the heat around and above it

so i dont think this would work with nirto fuel so it wouldnt be worth tring unless u have quite a bit of money to put out for it
