I am having an issue with my motor flaming out after two or three minutes. To get through any races this weekend I had to richen the truck something horrible. This issues was happening at the first race of the season so someone recomended getting the sleeve pinched. Well after the pinch, RTV sealant, new fuel line, new fuel, break-in then new conrod and wrist pin, the same issue. I would love to hear any thoughts you may have.

I raced all last season with very little problems (Except with the tank seal) and went threw about a couple gallons of nitro...

Last but not least, I am running a REVO 2.5 with the easy start.

Have you tried settting all needles back to factory, i NEVER had a problem with my 2.5, And it sounds like you coverd your bases.

Here is my story: I had the same problem with one of my engines. I checked for all leakes and sealed every thing, and i could richen my needles to the point they were coming out, and it still had symtoms of being lean. I finally took the carb. apart and found some material clogging the needle valves. I cleaned them and put a filter on the line and had no more problems.

aj200415 Ahhh, I was suspecting that. Just before putting up the truck last season I was stripping it down to clean it. When I was putting the carb back together it felt like the HSN has almost stripped out. I added a little RTV to the threads to act like a thread lock and sealant and I added some on the top and bottom of the inlet fitting. I wondered if anything may have gummed it up. I have a new Carb body and can get a new HSN in no time....It is still wierd how it can run awesome for a period then just quit out of the blue...I will take the carb appart soon and give it a check. Man if it is only the carb I will kick my self!!!!

If I may, I have a 2.5R in my rusty, cracked card, it now has a os carb. I also have a buggy that had the same friggen issue, was so damn rich I though the hsn was going to fall out. Well, it turned out the pinch bolt (hold carb in place) fell out. Thus, air leak. Might check into that as well.
Sorry, should introduce my self, I'm Brian.:post_count1:

Hey Brian,

What OS Carb fits? I would love to put an all metal carb in I just can't seem to handle torquing down screws in plastic.

OS 18 TM carb. I picked it up off of ebay for like 15 bucks. Perfect match for the 2.5R. Once I dropped that on the engine, I havent had any troubles. New, I think there like 80 bucks(or close to it).
