Fix for broken LST chassis rails?

I'm in the middle of building an LST2 with a bunch of aftermarket parts and upgrades. I was looking at the new era roll bar and wondering how much stiffness it will add to the chassis as it straddles the middle and forward skid plates and is pretty beefy.

Hey Coach,

I considered that for my old LST and the reason I changed my mind was the fact it puts pressure right at the common place for the rails to break. So if one were to land that way I see it protecting the engine BUT more than likely breaking the rails again.

You have more thanone LST2?

Yeah I have one complete one that is the one I have for sale and I'm building two more. One is going to be super light and fast for racing the other one I'm building to be bullet proof for some serious bashing.

I thought the one Coach posted replaced the chassis rails?

How does it bolt up if it doesn't replace them?

I saw one at m LHS and handfitted it to my old LST after I split both rails on a bad landing..upside down.

It looks like the force of a bad landing would really be like driving a wedge in to spots very close to the points I broke my rails. SOOOO...when I get an LST again, I will go with RCS since the force would be spread out more evenly on the chassis.

Did it replace the chassis rails somehow? What's RCS?

I meant the NEW ERA Roll bar that Coach mentioned earlier. I looked at that at the LHS and handfitted it to my LST then. It looks like other than protect my engine, it would also cause similar breaks on the rails since it dissipates the force of an upside down landing on points of the rails. That is whyI would rather use the RCS Roll cage since it mounts evenly through the chassis.

Sorry.

haha lol
yes ythey are a pain in the a**ho** to fix but it is better to fix them than to ghetto rig somehing to temporarily fix them, because the break can cause stress on other components
an easy fix to fix for good is to go buy aluminum side rails
after the same thing kept happening to mine, and i also was getting extremely tired of it, went and bought some aluminum ones and i have not had to replace them ever again, its been about 2 years with aluminum side rails and all their is to them (damage wise) is a few tiny dings and scratches from casing!!!

hope i could help
i would reccomend these
