Hey guys, id like to get into this part of the hobby by buying my first crawler, but i dont know much about eletric RC cars, i currently own a tmaxx, savage, and revo. An with nitro you can't really piddle around on rocks and stuff unless you wanna ruin your car...

I've spent the last few weeks looking at the los 1/18th crawler, and i was pretty set on buying that. Until i came across a 1/10 scale crawler from axial (ax10 ARTR) i really like the ARTR because it has most of the upgrades of the comp ready kit, and its orange <3 haha
Though you have to buy your own speed control/motor/battery, now all i know is a 55T motor is what i think i would want because from what I've read it really torquey and overall a good motor, but everything else I'm kinda lost on

so what I'm asking is, IF i buy the ARTR what specific items would i need to get it working?

Thanks for the help

You will need as you mentioned an ESC/Motor, Battery, Steering Servo and TX/RX. For a steering servo, you will want a really high torque one (at least 300 oz./in).

Welcome to your new addiction should you choose to get a crawler, LOL!!!! It is a lot of fun and you will be truly amazed at what these crawlers can climb over...

For the AX10 ARTR I would recommend a 3ch radio like the DX3E or DX3R this will give you the option to add dig later on, for the ESC a Castle Creations Mamba Max or Sidewinder are a good choice, for the motor I like a 35 or 45 turn motor on a 3 cell lipo battery because it still give you good torque but also gives you great wheel speed when you need it, for lipo batteries I would go with Mystery 1500mah 11.1 volt 3 cell lipo that you can get 2 of them on Ebay for less then $30 shipped to your door, for a steering servo about the best bang for your buck in a servo that has more then 300oz of torque which you want for sure is a Hobbico CS-170. Check out my comp rig in this section and you will see what a AX10 ARTR can be turned into, LOL!!!!
